Thumbs down Cashcade Affiliate Program Closing Jan 26th ?

    Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone else received an email from Cashcade affiliates notifying that the affiliate program is to close on 26th Jan. I am not that impressed that I will be losing 10 years worth of players. What are your thoughts on this?

    "Dear Affiliate,
We are writing to inform you that as of Thursday 26th January, the current Cashcade affiliate programme will be closing until further notice.
We are in the process of moving the programme to a new platform. We’re excited about the future and hoping to relaunch the affiliate programme in a new system soon."
" update you with further information on the new Cashcade affiliate merchant. Keep a look out for more on the launch of the programme, coming up over the next couple of months."
"In the meantime, we would like to remind you that your licence to market Cashcade brands or make use of them in any other way will expire as of 26 January and we would like to respectfully ask you to remove all content which features such Cashcade brands from all properties and stop carrying out any further marketing. Continuing to do so shall amount to a breach of Cashcade’s IP rights and may result in formal action."
    Thanks

    Rachael

Not great is it. I'll be losing a bunch of customers too and by the looks of it there's gona be no migration or anything along those lines. Just a small pay-off and 'do one'.

    We got this email.

On first reading this is a BIG issue for us. We've been promoting Cashcade brands (FoxyBingo obviously being the biggest) for over 10 years, and most of that has been on Lifetime Rev Share - that's LIFETIME, not 'when we decide to cut you off'.

As stated above there's no talk of migration, nor residual rev share income once the programme closes.

I've emailed them to ask for some clarification. I'll report back if I hear anything.

If it's as black and white as the email seems to state then this is a BIG case of a brand shitting on affiliates.

Same as WhichBingo, my commission is also Rev Share with most on Life Time share.

I just hope that they will migrate our existing players but the way the email comes across is that we will have to start from scratch and lose our Life Time players, if this is the case they will probably hurt their own brand due to losing the trust of their affiliates resulting in their brand not being as popular as it was.

The one days notice to remove all content otherwise they may take formal action is a little unprofessional and insulting, two weeks notice with clarity would have sufficed.

What's the situation regarding "removing all content which features such Cashcade brands" - surely a review of a website is not their property nor infringes on their IP regardless of whether a link is an affiliate one, not an affiliate one or isn't included. I'd have thought that "fair use" would over-rule their demands.

Still at least they value their affiliates as stated in the email.. I guess we should be grateful for that!!! I'd hate to think what they'd have done if they hadn't valued us.

My guess is that they are doing this for SEO purposes - wipe out the affiliates content and their SEO comes to the top. My guess is that they cant stop you writing about their brand so they cant impose that.

    I've just checked the T&Cs on Foxy Bingo and it states the following;

"TERMINATION IS AT WILL, FOR ANY REASON, BY EITHER PARTY. For purposes of notification of termination, delivery via e-mail is considered a written and immediate form of notification.

Upon termination, the following provisions shall apply:

If we continue to permit play from customers after termination, this will not constitute a continuation or renewal of this Agreement or a waiver of termination.

You will continue to receive commissions revenues with respect to the profits generated from your players until the end of the calendar month in which this Agreement was terminated. "

Basically this email has right royally ****** all the affiliates that helped built their brands over the years

It certainly wasn't a high paying brand for me, I remember I went through a stage of getting lots of signups for Foxy that actually made me peanuts money. Cheeky was a bit better. It's no biggy for me, just annoying that these people can just decide to stop the aff program just like that.

I received the same email, but also they are offering me final bonus on top of my January earnings. Did you get the same?

I believe all affiliates should have received a similar email but over 10 years of promoting a brand it is perhaps more of a shock to be dropped in this way without notice. Affiliate marketing is a business and for many of us a lively hood not a hobby and is our main source of income.

For myself Cashcade brands are not much of an concern it is more of an annoyance to have to drop everything and update my site in a day or face the threat of "may result in formal action."

It makes me wonder if one long-standing company can treat their long term affiliates that helped them build their brands and reputation over many years then how many other companies will follow suit.

They are offering a final bonus - yes - and "an “enhanced offer” when signing up to the new Cashcade affiliate programme"!

    Their generosity is quite overwhelming.

I have not received the email, but have promoted them for many years, basically since they started. Cashcade Ltd is now owned by GVC Holdings Plc (who swallowed up the notorious crooked duo of Bwin.Party and sportingbet). I shall be turning my review pages negative and advising people to join other firms. I never remove review pages for rogue companies, just change the conclusion and tone of the review. These people have no ownership or control over your editorial content.

As for quoting their terms and conditions, that is irrelevant. I have spoken to lawyers in the past about affiliate terms and conditions. Anything that is wide-reaching would get laughed out of court. Stuff like "we can change the terms at any time" is a nonsense and would not be upheld. If they promised lifetime then it should be lifetime. Clicking the "accept" button under threat of otherwise having no access to an affiliate system is strong-arm tactics that again would never be upheld in court. It is like putting a gun to your head. These people have a long history of corrupt behaviour towards affiliates and I'll be avoiding all GVC Holdings brands. Of course when we all started promoting cashcade they weren't owned by such a disgraceful bunch of thieves.

I would be grateful if you could keep updating this thread if there are any further communications from these crooks, as I for one am not being sent them!

I totally agree with regards to "removing all content" - their email is aimed at scaring us to re-gain control SEO wise -

I recall having been screwed by cashcade before when they decided to change all our revenue deals from one day to the next for all players (existing and new). I have not pusehd their brands ever since.

They do have some nerves, as only a few months back, they were asking for more exposure on my sites!!!

I think it is apawlling and disgraceful. It makes me very angry and I wonder if we (affiliates) will eventually get together one day, to investigate and establishe our legal rights when it comes to those fraudulent contracts we are forced to accept.

You are spot on and I agree with your post. There is a long history of affiliates spouting when they get shafted on this website but not having the balls to do anything about it. You only need to read to read the SkyBet thread to see what a load of crap was spoken by affiliates on this forum that they then never actually did. Maybe that is why we are affiliates and not operators, because we are pathetic and have no balls? If so we deserve to be treated like suckers.

Certainly the contracts we are forced to accept are fraudulent. If I suffered a loss great enough i would take it further legally, having already been given some informal advice as to what a load of nonsense these ever-changing contracts are. Can a landlord just change terms of a contract on a tenant? lol, of course not. Only in this business and affiliates are so weak they take it. My loss re: cashcade is peanuts. We only earned ?k last year from their two brands as I am 99% sports betting. So I wont take them to court, but if anyone ever has the balls to take any of these firms to court over breach of contract (as this certainly is) then I will make a very large contribution to their legal expenses.

    Hijustbookies,

Glad to hear you are willing to contribute to legal expenses because we think there may be a case for a class action lawsuit. We have already had contact with some of the larger accounts they have tried to close and we would love hear from you especially if you have over 100 players currently attached to your revenue share account.

Luckily Cachcade pulled exactly the same trick in the past so some of the affliates managed to store eveidence of there t&c changes over the last few months.

    Thanks

Hope to hear from you soon.

I can see no means in the archaic affiliate system for the two brands I promoted (until today) to see how many tagged players I have. Feel free to educate me. I am happy to make a contribution of several grand towards overall fees after you have taken them to court and I'll make the payment direct to the lawyers anytime after day 1 of court case. Probably like yourself, I have heard and read all this **** so many times before. If anyone actually does more than just talk then I will contribute to them financially as I am sure many others would too. There were affiliates collecting money for legal fees re: sky in advance and nothing happened there. Should rename this place The Bullshit Forum. Hope big bingo affiliates have more about them than the sports affiliates. PM me from now on, thanks and good luck. You wont need it because any case that gets to court should win. It would set a vital precedent.

I can see what's coming next. A bunch of emails saying "Hey you haven't removed your content yet mentioning our brands" and witholding the final payment until we do so.

I wanted to clear point with you guys, or though I understand your disappointment when some Aff program go under, for whatever reasons, but when you get a "lifetime" deal, do you really expect it to be your whole life??? c'mon, aff programs like any other commercial ventures can go under for many reasons, including dishonest practices, but expecting lifetime revenue from any sources, especially internet venture, borders naivety.

I expect lifetime revenue to mean lifetime revenue. Fortunately for us, we did not work with this group. Years ago, one of their brands had very questionable stats and the affiliate manager's answer did not satisfy. As a result, we missed this landmine.

That being said, if a program goes out of business, I can understand. If a program's underlying brands continue to operate... Even if they are sold on, I 100% expect "lifetime revenue" to continue.
